Poison Ivy
If you've been reading my last few My Creative Space posts you know I've been working on an outfit for a friends 40th birthday party. The theme was Heroes and Villians and I decided to go as Poison Ivy. After much googling and creative thinking I came up with a plan to make a dress (as lycra just wasn't going to happen) with lots of fabric leaves sewn on..................... About a quarter of the way through this I was doubting myself and wondering if I had the stamina to finish it. I did and actually really loved making it.
The party was hysterically funny and the most fun I have had in so long. I caught up with friends I hadn't seen in years and everyone let loose and had a ball. As you can see by the photos things got a bit messy by the end of the evening. Wonder Woman did a few "Nudie Runs" which considering it was a freezing cold night was incredibly brave................or stupid???
Bring on the next 40th birthday party I say!

Brilliant!! Looks like heaps of fun & your costume is fantastic! (Damien's looking the goods in lycra too, Nick will be jealous, any opportunity for a dress up!)
Gorgeous ... Billy Thorpe would have been proud ... "She comes on like a rose and everybody knows ..." Fabulous creation and looks like you had the very best time ;-)
Wow - dress looks fabulous, looks like you had a great time, I love fancy dress parties - everyone always seems to have more fun!
That's fantastic! Nothing like a costume party to give you free licence to go NUTS.
Hey, have been thinking of you - Salvo Oppy in Drysdale has a kids sleeping bag in retro quilt fabric you'd loooove. $5. Saw it yesterday. Located behind the fruit and veg store. If you get a chance, you may like to check it out.
Oh wow what fab fun, my 40th is this coming Saturday but I'm afraid I am doing a ostrich act and am in deep denial! Mabey I'll celebrate 41? Stupid numbers.
