Shadow Shot Sunday

Haven't I been the busy blogger today???? Two posts in one day, a record for me I'm sure! I have played Flea Market Finds and have just discovered Shadow Shot Sunday over at Hey Harriet.
Whilst getting candles ready for Earth Hour last night I was flitting around the house with my trusty SLR which these days takes a backseat to snappy cam. It was fun and took me back to my Uni days.................
This is my contribution to Shadow Shot Sunday and I'm sure I can improve for next week.

Flea Market Finds

It hasn't been a week for great finds for me this week as I've been a bit sick so instead I thought I'd share a few of my favourite finds.
I just love a garage sale, antique shop and an Op Shop. I love that feeling you get when you spot a special something from a distance, your heart starts beating loudly and you take a quick look around in the hope no one else has seen it. Then the sprint begins..........what a feeling it is to have that special little something in your hot little hands.
The beautiful little girl so reminds me of growing up in the 70's. I'm sure we had many a print like this, she is so beautiful and I love that she now sits in my studio and watches over me. The malemine bowl with the brown lid, well its just cool. I love the colours and the pattern and although it has not yet found its place or purpose it doesn't matter to me. The metal sign came from a friends garage sale. He is a skydive instructor and well, who could resist? It is just too funny!

taking a leap into the etsy world

Yikes, I've done it! BOB & MABEL have arrived in the world of Etsy, if only in a very small way. I'm taking baby steps whilst I figure it all out and so far have only loaded a few things. During the next week or so I plan to add more ladies skirts so keep an eye out.
Fingers crossed..........

Festival of the Sea

On Sunday my lovely friend Katie from 5 star, baby! and I attended the 10th annual Festival of the Sea market for our 3rd time. It is in the devine little town of Barwon Heads, think ABC's Seachange.....Diver Dan! Its a fabulous day with cool muso's, great food, an exhibition showcasing works from local artists with an enviromental/sustainability theme and of course the market with talented people like ourselves......hehehe!

mad woman sewing

Yes, I am sewing like a mad woman! Isn't it always the way? The inspiration arrives when you are flat out getting ready for a market......so many ideas and just not enough time. If only those ideas surfaced a few weeks ago. I am loving my new girls skirt, particularly the birdie skirt and I have some cool big girls (for the ladies) skirts in the works now. More on that later.
Have a great day, I am finishing up my coffee and back to the sweatshop.........

Happy Mail Exchange

Last week I was the super lucky recipient of a very special package. I took part in the Happy Mail Exchange organised by the delightful Chantelle. I was so busy organising my little gift to send that I totally forgot that I would recieve something. I could not be happier when I returned home one day last week to so many beautifully wrapped little gifts! Earrings, brooches, cards, bookmarks, photo and the most gorgeous little mobile. Everything was completely my style and taste and it made my week. Thankyou to REread design, you are just too clever! Find more REread here at her etsy shop.

my space

Yesterday my gorgeous friend Katie and I took a little trip to Ikea. Who doesn't love Ikea???? My reason for this shopping expedition was to "organise"! You see, I have dreams of a super tidy house where everything has its place. Our loungeroom now has 2 Expedit shelving units to put all the littlies toys and books and I have a larger one in my studio. Check out the state of my studio.........eek! I have made a start on cleaning it up and making it all lovely and organised (if only I could be bothered repainting it!).

pre loved and rearranged cushions

I have been having a cushion dilemma. I have 3 children who love to throw them around the loungeroom, stack them in piles and use them as their toys. As a consequence of all this lovin' the cushions I made years ago are looking dodgy to say the least. I have so many ideas for beautiful, pretty and not so practicle ones but am thinking that may have to wait. For now I'm going for durable but cool. This is the first one made from............you guessed it, an old calico bag that was used for dog cubes! I LOVE it, love the colours, the diagonal stripes on the side and the vintage/country look of it. AND I love that it came from Aunty Aggie's old farm house.

Able & Game cards

Today was to be a day of painting. Not painting in the creative, artsy kind of way but the painting in the filling nail holes, sanding and painting weatherboards kind of way. During a coffee break today I was browsing etsy as I do regularly............way too regularly actually and I went back to one of my fave sellers Able & Game. I LOVE their cards. They make me almost pee my pants with laughter. I love the words, I love the artwork, I just love them.
