My Creative Space

Painting plus a bit more painting is how the last week or two has rolled for me. No sewing machine in sight! We did a huge renovation on our house a few years ago and I madly painted all the interior walls at the time and didn't bother with the skirting boards, architraves, doors or windows. Now after too many years of them staring at me I figured it was time...................eek!!! It is such a massive job and as I'm working my way around I realise that it is going to take so much longer than I anticipated. There are so many tedious jobs to be done like filling nail holes and sanding, not my forte! I have painted in a few spiders webs and not sanded as well as I should but it will be an improvement.
In my excitement (that's a bit of an exaggeration)I have taken the white paint to just about everything in sight! I plan on painting all the dining chairs white as well as this great stool I picked up on the side of the road and a few frames... So, I am being a little creative!

Our house is a bit the same, I think you don't "see" things like that after a while, so one doesn't get around to doing them.

They look fantastic Mandy! You've been very busy. I want to change the colour of our dinig suite as well but I'm not sure where to start, plus all the chairs are leather, so that would mean covers & I'm not sure I want to go there!

I will drop my chairs off to you & you can do those while you are at it! lol I have them mostly sanded. Just need to get into the corners.

Painting is good fun but the prep work really sucks! lol

I agree with Mandy... prep work sucks! i fondly remember painting over spiders webs and dirt when we tarted up our last house before it's sale.. I hang my head in shame!

I really like painting furniture white, it just makes everything look ace. Good luck with all the boring jobs you need to finish, just think how fabulous & clever you will feel when they are all done!!?? xo

Love all your white furniture! ANd I'm with you...the painting is not so bad but all the prep work before is hideous!! Sending speedy painting vibes your way :)

i hear you. at the 'end' of a renovation it is easier to ignore the little jobs and after a while you just don't see them anymore. the white looks ace

You're my kind-of painter. I do exactly the same. I start out well, but then become complacent...

I hope it's over soon enough. x
